From the outside, none of it is visible. And yet we ask teenagers to choose subjects, degrees, and career directions with almost no insight into the day-to-day reality of the work itself.

 

As a parent of three kids two in senior high school and one in University, that gap feels deeply personal. I want my own children and every student to have access to real context, clarity, and insight into careers.

 

That’s why I founded 20MC — The 20 Minute Career.

My perspective comes from experience. I’ve spent the last 20 years inside global organisations across Banking and Finance, Oil & Gas, Consulting, Healthcare, and Technology, leading talent functions that touched every stage of the career journey.

I've seen first hand when interns, graduates and early career professionals step into organisations for the first time and that proximity gave me a rare view into how early careers really unfold. And one thing stands out - when someone arrives with a clear and realistic picture of what the role actually demands, the whole experience changes they settle in faster, ask better questions, and turn up every day with a lot more confidence.

 

20MC exists because I’ve seen careers from the inside. And I know how powerful it is when students understand the reality of careers from the very start.
